2nd Annual Farmer's Day 5K & 3K Walk
Who we are......
The MoCo Cancer Awareness Team, Inc. is hosting their third annual 5K Run and 3K walk. This organization partners with the WV Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program; Office of Maternal, Child and Family Health; and WVDHHR to provide support for our WV residents.. The main goal of the MoCo Cancer Awareness Team is to provide information and support to aide women and men in diagnostic and treatment for Breast and Cervical Cancer. We are a non profit organization. We send the proceeds to the WV Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program.
About race day: Please plan to arrive by 7:30 if you haven't already pre-registered. If you have pre-registered, please come at 7:45. Your t-shirt and tag information will be available when you check in for the day. Parking: please plan to park off of main street. This is where the race will start and end. Farmer's Day activities will follow the race including: a parade, corn hole tournament, pool, music on the streets from live bands, local food along the streets, etc.

If further directions are needed; please contact 304-661-0669. For those who ran the race last year, the registration is two blocks up from the flag pole. The registration is located on the corner of 219 and South St in the 2 story white building located there.
Ages: 10& under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69. Prizes awarded in 5K run to top 2 Male/Female in each age group & Overall Male/Female. Walkers awarded participant ribbons. All cancer survivors will be given special recognition.

I agree that any and all representations made and releases, waivers, covenants, consents and permissions given by me hereunder are given on behalf of me and any an all of my minor children or persons over whom I have Guardianship participating or attending the event.
I give my consent and permission to the Monroe County Cancer Awareness Group, their Sponsors, Their Successors, Licensees, and Assigns the Irrevocable right to use, for any purpose whatsoever and without compensation, (1) any photographs, videotapes, or other recordings of me that are made during the course of this event; and (2) the results of my participation in this Event (E.G. race time, name, participation number). I understand that my consent to these provisions is given in consideration for being permitted to participate in this Event. (3) I may be removed from this competition if I do not follow all of the rules of this Event; and I am a voluntary participant in this Event. I am in good physical condition and solely responsible for my personal health, safety, and personal property. I know that this Event is a potentially hazardous activity and I hereby voluntarily assume full and complete responsibility for, and the risk of, any injury or accident that may occur during my participation in this event. (Including but not limited to my fundraising activities associated with the Event) or while on the Event Premises. To the fullest extent of the law, I, for myself, my next of kin, heirs, administrators, and Executors (Collectively “Releasors”) hereby Release and Hold Harmless and Covenant not to file suit against the (1) Monroe County Cancer Awareness Team, their Directors, Trustees, Agents, and Volunteers (2) Any Event Sponsors (3) The Town of Union (4) All other persons or entities associated with this event (Collectively the “Releasees”) for any injury or damages that I might suffer in connection with my participation.
The Release applies to any and all loss, liability, and or claims I or my Releasors may have arising out of my participation, including but not limited to, personal injury or damage suffered by me or others, whether such losses, liabilities, or claims caused by falls, contact with and/or the actions of the other participants, contact with fixed or non-fixed objects, contact with animals, conditions of the event premises, negligence of the releases, risks not known to me or not reasonably foreseeable at this time, or otherwise. I understand that I am solely responsible and liable for all aspects of my fundraising activities associated with my participation, including, but not limited to, the safe and lawful conduct of any fundraising activities.
This Photographic and Results Release and Waiver of Release of Claims (Collectively, the “Release”) shall be constructed under the laws of the State of West Virginia.
I understand that I have given up substantial rights by signing this Release, and have signed it freely and voluntarily without any inducement, assurance or guarantee being made to me and intend my signature to be a complete and unconditional release of any liability to the greatest extent allowed by law.
